Our online store is operational for all items available to send via Australia Post. We are sending parcels every business day. There will also be a number of items that run out due to low numbers and you can create a backorder for certain items we know we are able to source in the short term.
We are experiencing delays from overseas suppliers due to reduced flights, road transport, Aust Post deliveries and so on. This is effecting our deliveries from Hogue, HiViz, Triple K as well as having a knock on effect for local suppliers that are also experiencing shipping delays. Current deliveries from overseas are taking 3-4 weeks (Jan 2023)
Phone orders are not generally provided with tracking information unless requested.
***Express Post is available for up to 3kg only at this stage (Oct 2020) at an extra charge, please select at checkout. Any item over 3kg or larger than 35cmx15cm will not fit in a parcel so can not be express posted. Generally this means anything larger than an A4 piece of paper or more than 4 firearms magazines WILL NOT FIT into the 3kg Express post bag we have so do not select this option at checkout if you are ordering larger items*** Aust Post cannot guarantee next day delivery with Express Post during these COVID times.
For online orders, the charges are incremental depending on weight and we will combine postage for multiple orders. Postage charges are $15-$25 depending on the value of your order. At our discretion, we may refund part of your shipping costs if the parcel is small but the cost value of the order is high and will email you directly for details. This mail is trackable and the number can be supplied in case the parcel is lost or missing and used for the customer to make a claim after 21 days or reasonable timeframe. Please see Australia Post website for reasonable expected delivery times within Australia.
We are unable to post ammunition, projectiles and powder. Please do not ask us to send these to you as they are pick up only items. This is due to courier regulations and Australia Post will not deliver these.
NSW, QLD, VIC and TAS customers – when ordering parts and magazines online, please include your current firearms licence details in the dedicated ‘notes’ section of the order form. TAS customers – we are required to send magazines and parts to your nominated dealer.
** IMPORTANT – WA CUSTOMERS **
“ALL ORDERS PROCESSED ONLINE AND OVER THE PHONE MUST GO TO YOUR NOMINATED DEALER IN WA UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE”
We DO NOT ship anything to ANY international destination, including NZ and surrounding areas.
POSTAGE AND FREIGHT CHARGES
Posters in tube $15.
Hogue stocks flat fee $25
Interstate and QLD Handgun postage and transfer fee $50 each minimum – registered mail (us to them)
Interstate and QLD Rifle postage and transfer fee $100 each minimum *updated February 2020. This is due to Australia post Manual handling surcharge for items over 100cm and a 3.85% security management charge. Items sent Registered mail (us to them).
Please note that we are not responsible for any lost or missing items and that such matters must be taken up with Australia Post after 21 days** of item being sent. We are unable to intervene in tracking a parcel that may have been re-directed or not delivered within a reasonable timeframe. Best not to return a parcel to us ‘return to sender’ as it is difficult for Australia Post to track the item as the number on the parcel will be already marked as delivered and if used again, is not trackable. Please see Postage refund policy under Terms and Conditions for further clarification on returns and refunds.
** Or reasonable timeframe governed by the Australia Post website
Please see Australia Post Terms and Conditions for tracking and delivery of Firearms
We use Australia Post Registered Mail for ALL Firearms deliveries Dealer to Dealer.
WA deliveries differ thus –
Firearm Dealers in WA must register with Australia Post to receive (and send) firearms. There is a secure network of post offices in WA and we (disposing dealer) can only send the firearm to a post office within that secure network. Please ensure the WA dealer has registered with Australia Post and find out from them which post office to send the parcel to. Any post office in WA can tell the dealer where the secure facilities are (and I think post offices outside of WA will also have that information). We can only send 1 firearm per parcel via this secure network and there is an additional fee as well, we will let you know when sending the item. You, the WA customer or dealer, will need to contact the dealer to find out firstly if they are registered with Australia Post and secondly, which post office to send the single-firearm-per-package to. The WA dealer can then arrange for internal transfer of the firearms to their business via an approved carrier. The WA dealer also has to have an Aust Post account and we will need to quote that account number on the address details, so you’ll have to ask your WA dealer for his account number too and notify us what that is.
Guide to Acquiring Firearms
If you’re in Queensland and would like to acquire a firearm from Gold Coast Shooters Supplies:
1. Contact our friendly sales team to confirm the availability of the firearm.
2. Purchase the firearm, using one of our payment options:
Place a minimum 50% deposit on the firearm (over $700 value), with the total amount to be finalised within 4 weeks
OR
Pay in full price of the firearm if the value is under $700
3. Apply for a Queensland Permit to Acquire (PTA) online, using our details as the registered owner and disposer. Our licence number is 50000106.
*Please note that permits may be issued on average 5-7 business days from application date if firearms are already on your licence. If it is the first firearm to be acquired, the PTA may be issued after 28 days. Generally, we do not have your phone details to contact you so you will be required to call us to see if its come in.
Don’t have a licence? Apply through Weapons Licencing Branch QLD. As this will take longer than 6 weeks, your firearm will incur storage fees awaiting the licence. Please keep this in mind when factoring costs into the purchase.
4. If relevant, pay the balance of the firearm and choose from the following:
Bring your PTA in store for brokerage (no fee applicable if purchasing firearms from us)
OR
If it’s emailed to us, it is considered the original and you can collect or have it sent once we have the emailed copy from WLB. Please call us to see if its arrived, we don’t have your phone number to advise you.
OR
Send the original copy of the PTA to us for brokerage. We are able to send firearms to licensed individuals direct in Queensland but we prefer to send to a dealer for safety reasons. Further postage and handling fees may be applicable.
If you’re in a state other than Queensland and would like to acquire a firearm from GCSS:
1. Contact our friendly sales team to confirm the availability of the firearm.
2. Purchase the firearm, please keep in mind your State’s laws regarding permits and purchase of firearms.
Pay in full and we can send to your nominated dealer immediately (please see separate details for purchases in WA). Organise payment for postage and handling to your designated dealer unless its WA where your dealer will be organising freight on your behalf.
3. Apply for an acquisition form from your state or territory weapons registry, using your local dealer’s details as the registered owner and disposer. In NSW, you need to have the permit before acquiring a firearm.
BROKERAGE
Standard Brokerage between 2 people in store is $11. Please ensure paperwork is correct and if the disposer is not present, the relevant area’s need to be signed by them. If we need to write information into the book due to incorrect disposer information, the charge is $25.
Interstate Brokerage transfers – an item sent to us from Interstate dealer that requires us to write information into the books $50
This brokerage is different to postage and mail out information given under the postage and freight information above.
